Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Biarritz Jatetxea, a quintessential Basque restaurant nestled in the heart of Donostia at Paseo de la Concha 43, Zubieta Kalea 56. This culinary gem not only dazzles with its exquisite menu but also treats diners to breathtaking views of the ocean, making each meal a memorable experience.

Biarritz Jatetxea specializes in savory Basque cuisine, where tradition meets innovation on every plate. The restaurant’s ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for everything from intimate dinners to lively gatherings with friends. Customers rave about the chef’s culinary prowess, with one patron, Edward Strover, praising the risotto as “the best” he’s ever encountered, while his pork dish was described as “sublime.” Each dish is presented with an artistic touch and a flair that excites the palate.

As you sip on a carefully selected local wine, take in the stunning backdrop of the setting sun over the bay, which adds an enchanting charm to your dining experience. Louise McDonald captured this sentiment perfectly: "The romantic setting was enhanced by a beautiful sunset." With the staff always at hand to make personalized wine recommendations, your experience will feel tailored especially for you, whether you're a seasoned wine connoisseur or simply looking to try something new.

On busy evenings, it’s wise to make a reservation—Andy Moss learned this the hard way when he found himself trying to book on short notice, only to discover they were fully booked. It’s a testament to the restaurant’s popularity, as he described the vibrant atmosphere coupled with exceptional service that leaves every guest feeling special.

If you find yourself at the restaurant during a quieter moment, like 4chillies did, the downstairs seating offers a more serene dining experience. The attentive service and the team’s willingness to recommend local wines, coupled with the option to taste before you commit, truly embodies the warm hospitality that the Basque region is known for.

With dishes that range from fantastic burgers to rich croquettes, there is something to please every palate. One customer noted the reasonable prices offered despite the prime waterfront location—a refreshing observation amidst fine dining options. Michelle67 Hendo remarked on her overall enjoyment of both the food and the wine, hinting at the restaurant's knack for creating memorable culinary adventures at accessible prices.

For those seeking a delightful dining experience while exploring Donostia, Biarritz Jatetxea is a destination worth visiting. Whether you choose to indulge in their extraordinary offerings or simply soak in the stunning vistas, every moment feels curated just for you. Consider this restaurant a must-visit on your Basque adventure—an experience that engages all your senses and celebrates the vibrant culture of this incredible region.

We had both a wonderful meal and a wonderful experience here. The chef knows how to cook food to a very high standard. I don't remember having a better risotto anywhere and his pork dish was sublime. On top of this service was great. The whole team was friendly and welcoming and one went above and beyond to offer advice on the pintxos scene. This was an all round great experience.

Great view of the ocean and sunset over the bay, food was delicious at a perfect location, the romantic setting was enhanced by a beautiful sunset. The waiter was extremely helpful and supportive with wine selections, very memorable experience. Recommended.

Had dinner here on Friday night. Recommend to reserve in advance as we tried to book a day earlier but no room. Was busy but great service and our waiter made good suggestions on how many dishes to order. Food and wine were good and was a nice atmosphere.

We were passing Biarritz Jatetxea and thought it looked interesting. They were fully booked upstairs but could fit us in downstairs which was actually much better because it was much quieter down there. The service was excellent - they recommended local wines and let us taste the wine before purchasing a bottle and when they saw that we were sharing everything our main dish came out served on two plates. The food was delicious!! Unfortunately we weren't hungrier as the menu looked really good and the dishes going to other tables looked good too.

really enjoyed the food and wine. Despite it is water front, price is really reasonable, too. I will be back soon.

The burger was amazing and the e croquetes too tho today it was filled with seniors it was a nice experience but definetly not at the top of my list you should try it but don’t expect too much
